The Nike Air Force 1 is without doubt Nike's most iconic pair. Created in 1982 by Bruce Kilgore and like most sneakers, it was designed for basketball. At the time, Nike was not able to impose itself on the basketball market against its competitor Adidas. They decided to entrust the creation of a new pair to Bruce with the objective of creating a pair whose performance would be unequalled! The pair was named Air Force 1 in reference to the American presidential plane and evokes the heights that athletes will be able to reach with this pair.
