The Nike Air Force 1 was created in 1982 by Bruce Kilgore with the ambition of creating a pair of sneakers with unparalleled performance. As is often the case in sneaker history, it was originally designed for basketball. It was therefore THE model that would come to rival Adidas on the basketball court.
The Air Force 1 takes its name from the US presidential aircraft and aims to help athletes who wear it achieve incredible results. Its design is inspired by the Nike Approach, a hiking shoe. It was the first sneaker to feature a sole with Air technology, offering superior shock absorption and maintaining its shape over time.
To this day, Nike continues to develop new versions of this iconic model. The Nike Air Force 1 Special Field is a prime example.
