The ELA and its missions

The ELA family association fights against leukodystrophy, a rare and serious disease that affects children from birth. ELA is committed to providing families with moral support and offers considerable financial, administrative, technical, psychological, and social assistance. But that's not all! The association also supports research to find a cure for this disease and is expanding its work internationally. Finally, ELA raises public awareness of this disease through various events.

Support the association and "put on your sneakers"!

How can you support the ELA association on a personal level? With the " Put on your sneakers " campaign, of course! Every year, ELA invites schools and businesses to take as many steps as possible to support the association. It's a simple activity to organize that provides significant help to ELA.

Double G Customs shows its support

Double G Customs has chosen to show its support for ELA by donating 10% of the price of its custom sneakers to the charity. These donations will help the organization carry out its missions.

How about wearing a pair of sneakers in the colors of the ELA association? The association's signature pink is featured on a pair of Adidas Stan Smith sneakers, adding a pop of color that won't go unnoticed. The ELA logo is positioned on the side towards the back of the sneakers, leaving room for a large sun on the side of the Adidas.

Adidas Stan Smith

This pair of Adidas Stan Smith sneakers is customized in the colors of the ELA association. Its logo and a large sun are featured on the sneakers. The customization is entirely in the association's colors; even the patch on the sneakers is colored!

Show your support for the ELA association by wearing these personalized sneakers!

The famous Stan Smith wasn't always called that. In 1964, Adidas wanted to create a shoe for tennis, a sport that was booming at the time. They approached French tennis player Robert Haillet, who designed the shoe. It wasn't until six years later, in 1970, that the German brand with the three stripes signed a contract with Stanley Smith and renamed the shoe "Stan Smith."
While today everyone wears sneakers, at that time they were still considered sports equipment, and it was the Stan Smith that sparked this change! In the 1980s, Stan Smiths became popular beyond the tennis court; this marked the beginning of the "sneaker" (a shoe worn for lifestyle purposes) as we know it today.
While the Stan Smith enjoyed considerable success for years, in 2011 Adidas announced the end of the iconic "Stan Smith" for 2012. The shoe was outdated and no longer selling well enough. But in 2013, the German sportswear company reversed course and announced the return of the Stan Smith in 2014. Whether it was a poor strategic choice or a stroke of marketing genius, Stan Smith sales took off again!
